FREDRICK BARTHELME is a novelist and short story author, as well as the former editor for the Mississippi Review. He is a prominent voice in American letters in the style of “dirty realism,” and is a recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts grants, as well as a PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction nomination for Elroy Nights. He is the brother of postmodern author Donald Barthelme.
