Micah Perks

Micah Perks is the author of the memoir Pagan Time and the novel We Are Gathered Here. She has twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and currently lives in Santa Cruz, where she teaches at the University of California.

 

Red Pine (a.k.a. Bill Porter), author of Road to Heaven: Encounters with Chinese Hermits, is one of the world’s most respected translators of Chinese literature, bringing into English several of China’s central religious and literary texts including The Platform Sutra, The Diamond Sutra, and The Heart Sutra. He is a frequent visitor to China and has spent many years living in Taiwan and Hong Kong. He lives in Port Townsend, Washington.

 

Leonard Pitt

Leonard Pitt is an actor and author. He has written multiple books on Paris, including Paris Postcards, Walks Through Lost Paris and Paris: Un Voyage dans le Temps, as well as A Small Moment of Great Illumination, about the life of the seventeenth century Irish healer Valentine Greatrakes. He has performed and taught throughout the U.S. and Europe, and lives in Berkeley, California.

Kevin Powell’s articles have appeared in many publications, including Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and Vibe, where he was a founding staff member. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, and is the author of the poetry collection, No Sleep Till Brooklyn.

Writer and collage artist Graham Rawle is a lecturer on sequential design and illustration at the University of Brighton. He is the author of the graphic novel Woman’s World and an illustrated version of The Wizard of Oz. He lives in London.

Victoria Redel is the author of the acclaimed novel Loverboy, as well as The Border of Truth, a collection of short stories, and two books of poetry. She has received a National Endowments for the Arts Fellowship and a Fine Arts Work Center Fellowship, and teaches writing at both Columbia University and Sarah Lawrence College. She lives in Manhattan.

David Rees is the author of several cult-hit comic books and the comic strip “Get Your War On,” anthologized in Get Your War On: The Definitive Account of the War on Terror, 2001-2008. He lives in Beacon, New York.

Louis Reyes Rivera has taught poetry and essay writing since 1969. He co-edited Bum Rush the Page: A Def Poetry Jam and The Bandana Republic: A Literary Anthology by Gang Members and Their Affiliates and has received a Special Congressional Recognition Award. He lives in New York City.

Mary Robison, author of One D.O.A., One on the Way and the acclaimed Why Did I Ever, is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, two Pushcart Prizes, an O. Henry Award, and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Fiction. She lives in Gainesville, Florida.

Rodriguez

Favianna Rodriguez is the co-editor of Reproduce and Revolt. Her dynamic political prints and posters tell a history of social justice, capturing the daily sentiments of a people in daily struggle, to document their efforts and celebrate their victories. Rodriguez is co-founder of the EastSide Arts Alliance (ESAA), a third world collective of artists and activists working to empower the Oakland community through art and culture. She has lectured several times in Tokyo and Mexico City about the role of art and culture in community building. She lives in Oakland, California.

David Rosenberg

Biblical scholar and acclaimed poet David Rosenberg is the author of A Literary Bible as well as several noted books, including two that were chosen as New York Times Notable Books of the Year. Rosenberg’s translation of The Book of J, with commentary by Harold Bloom, was a national bestseller. He lives near the Florida Everglades.

Matthue Roth is the author of Candy in Action: A Novel. He is also a performance poet and student of the medieval commentators on the Babylonian Talmud, and he has been a baker, barista, translator, and a kosher inspector. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Jazmin Ruotolo is a New York-based illustrator and fashion designer. She co-founded K.A. Kitties, a denim line featured on MTV and in Nylon and Suede. She illustrated Model Life, and she has created two web comics, Broken Wings and Dream of the Dragon.

James Salter is the author of eight books, including A Sport and a Pastime, Gods of Tin, and There & Then. He has been awarded the PEN/Faulkner Award and is a member of the Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. He divides his time between New York and Colorado.

David Samuels is the author of Only Love Can Break Your Heart as well as a contributing editor at Harper’s Magazine and a frequent contributor to The New Yorker and The Atlantic Monthly. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and son.

Barry Sanders, author of Unsuspecting Souls: The Disappearance of the Human Being, has received two Pulitzer Prize nominations for his works A Is for Ox and Alienable Rights, which he co-authored with Francis Adams. Recipient of a Fulbright Senior Scholar Grant to investigate the idea of the Commons in Greece, Sanders retired in 2005 from his post as professor of History of Ideas and English at Pitzer College in Claremont, California.

Sargeant

Jack Sargeant’s books on film include No Focus: Punk on Film, Naked Lens: Beat Cinema, and Deathtripping: Underground Trash Cinema. He lives in Melbourne, Australia.
